Will Cesar prove a good signing for Arsenal? Let us know your thoughts below.
Today's Mail Online suggests that Arsenal are close to completing the signing of Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar in the next few days.
The Brazilian shot stopper is set to star for his country in Sunday's Confederations Cup Final but once his participation is finished Cesar will put pen to paper on a deal with the Gunners.
Talks between the two parties have already been fruitful but negotiations have been put on hold until after his international duty.
Cesar, who is free to depart Loftus Road after relegation, will be signed to put added pressure on current goalkeepers Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny as Arsene Wenger looks to add strength to his backline that has suffered so much in recent years.
Elsewhere, Wenger could face disappointment in his pursuit of Swansea City defender Ashley Williams and Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini as both respective clubs try to keep their star players on the books. Arsenal are currently refusing to pay Fellaini his £100,000-a-week wage demands and want to pay less than the £24 million release clause.
While they are also reluctant to pay £10 million for Williams with Wenger still keeping his funds tight despite a reported £70 million transfer kitty.
