Arsenal Target £12m Man City Contract Rebel as Wenger Looks to Strengthen Defence

Emirates Stadium side see England man as potential Bacary Sagna replacement.

Arsenal have joined the race to sign Man City’s adaptable defender Micah Richards according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 25 year old England international has been offered a new contract by his Etihad Stadium employers but Richards is ready to turn his back on the club having become something of a bit-part player.
The one club man has suffered with injuries and managed just seven Premier League starts in 2012/13 and is perhaps concerned that he will be unable to unseat first choice right-back Pablo Zabaleta whilst also struggling to force his way into Manuel Pellegrini’s central defensive picture given the emergence of youngster Matija Nastasic, who formed an excellent partnership with Vincent Kompany last season.
Arsenal apparently see Richards as a possible replacement for Bacary Sagna, who is likely to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer having failed to agree a new contract with the North London club.
Roma and Inter Milan are also said to be keen on Richards, who was at one time an England regular, and having spent eight seasons in the Man City first team set-up the Birmingham born defender may be ready to leave the club in pursuit of a regular starting eleven berth.
