Arsenal Plot Surprise Move to Sign Chelsea Flop Fernando Torres As Gonzalo Higuain Strike Partner

Torres is unlikely to get much first team football if he stays at Chelsea next season.
Arsenal are planning to sign Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and hope that the Spaniard will link up with Gonzalo Higuain to form the Gunners new-look striking partnership, The Daily Mirror reports.
The news comes as reports suggest that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to let Torres leave the club this summer as he looks to overhaul the Blues squad.
Chelsea insiders claim that only 5 players in Chelsea’s current squad will make Mourinho’s first team, with Torres, Juan Mata and David Luiz not among the five.
Arsenal will now move for Torres with the Gunners board desperate for big name signings that will persuade manager Arsene Wenger to sign a new contract at the Emirates.
Torres is set to hold talks with Mourinho when he returns from the Confederations Cup in Brazil and the striker already has a feeling that the Portuguese manager will tell him that he no longer has a future at the club.
Arsenal are close to signing their number one transfer target for the summer, Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain and hope to sign Torres or Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney to partner the Argentine in a new look attack.
